Ceiling And Overhead Work
Suspended canopies and overhead installations that give a wide room a ceiling line. On a gala floor this is the single piece that changes how large the room feels.
What We Do
Julie Coffin builds large-scale installations and architectural floral design for galas: overhead and ceiling work, flower walls and backdrops, sculptural forms, and tablescapes composed the length of a room.
Ceiling work carries colour across a wide floor. Flower walls and stage surrounds hold their detail close up, where the photographs get taken. Together they make the room an immersive environment.
Julie leads every engagement herself. The designer who draws the gala floor is the one you talk to, with thirty years of Atlanta work behind her.
The Work
01
Suspended canopies and overhead installations that give a wide room a ceiling line. On a gala floor this is the single piece that changes how large the room feels.
02
Framing for a stage, arches and entry structures, and the surround a sponsor logo sits inside. Built on structure so they hold their line under lighting all evening.
03
Full flower walls, living walls and step and repeat backdrops built bloom by bloom. Every photograph from the night is taken in front of one, so they are built for close inspection.
04
Garland runners composed the full length of a table, elevated forms and low sculptural work together, drawn by Julie so a long table reads as one piece.

How We Design
Julie draws each design from concept through execution, for the space it goes into. A gala that repeats every year gets a different room each time.
It matters most overhead. A canopy is built to a specific span and a specific height, drawn for the room it hangs in. Held together, the overhead work and the walls make one immersive environment.
Her wider corporate event work reaches every part of the metro.
Credentials
Three decades of floral and event design in Atlanta, led throughout by Julie Coffin, and a five-star reputation behind the work.
Her corporate work runs through Cherokee Town Club, the St. Regis Atlanta, the Capital City Club and the Atlanta History Center. Club dining rooms, hotel ballrooms and a historic hall, each one drawn on its own terms.
The design credentials come from the wedding side of the studio. A 2025 Allie Award for Best Wedding Decor and Design, and a second for Best Wedding Flowers. Work featured in Brides, a wedding publication.
Wedding awards, for wedding work. What they recognise is a room built as one composition, at scale, with structure behind it. That is the same brief a gala sets.
Execution
A flower wall holds its line under stage lighting for the length of an evening, and a suspended canopy keeps its shape above a full floor. The frame behind each piece is drawn with the florals it carries.
Large work comes together as finished sections and goes up as one piece in the room. A backdrop the width of a stage is made to be assembled on site without losing the line it was drawn to.
Julie draws the environment and the studio carries it through: built, installed, and cleared again once the night is over. The designer stays with the work from the first sketch to the empty room.
Delivery
